Swaraj India Helps Civic Volunteers Win Historic Case

Kolkata, 24th January 2019: Advocates of Legal Cell of Swaraj India West Bengal helped civic volunteers win a historic case in the Calcutta High Court today. The civic volunteers had filed a case challenging their illegal demobilisation by the Mamata Banerjee Govt. The Hon’ble Court quashed the order of demobilization and directed the Govt. to hear the petitioners afresh by following principles of natural justice. As the petitioners were terminated without valid cause, Swaraj India expects that they will be reinstated soon.

More than 10,000 civic volunteers have been illegally and whimsically terminated by the State Govt. and Swaraj India has been actively supporting their struggle for justice.

Congratulating the petitioners on their victory, Advocate Subhrajit Saha, Convenor of Swaraj India’s Legal Cell said that Swaraj India will continue fighting legal battles for all classes of people who are suffering injustice in the hands of an arrogant and insensitive govt.
